Celebrate 420 on the Block with The Green Solution

Ah, the month of April. We celebrate the arrival of the Easter Bunny, flowers begin to peek out of the ground, and nature starts turning green. On the other hand, T.S. Eliot called it “the cruelest month,” and here in Denver, sometimes it snows in April.

But for us at The Green Solution, April means one thing above all: 4/20. The smoky origins of the stoners’ national holiday are obscure, but that doesn’t stop us from celebrating our beloved herb in style each year. And this year, a new tradition begins. TGS is co-sponsoring 420 on the Block in the 1000 to 1200 blocks of Broadway in Denver on Thursday, April 20th, and friends, it’s going to be grand.

Spanning six Broadway venues (Vinyl, the Church, Bar Standard, Milk Bar, City Hall, and the Living Room), the event will feature local and international artists to help you celebrate. Rusko, J. Phlip, Dumpstaphunk, Don Carlos, Cut Chemist, Del the Funky Homosapien, Invisibl Skratch Piklz, Blockhead, Magic Beans, and Live Animals will all be performing live for your 4/20 pleasure.

But this event is about more than music. You can also get your laugh on at the Sexpot comedy showcase at the Living Room (show time is 7:00). Headliners Alex Falcone and Billy Wayne will be joined by locals Timmi Lasley, Brent Gill, and The Pussy Bros, and hilarity will no doubt ensue.

We’re not forgetting the visual arts, either. At the Church, Vinyl, and City Hall, talented artists will be creating masterpieces before your very eyes. The lineup includes River Hendricks (Ghost River Art), Molly Gardner, Jake Amason, Stephen Kruse, Zach Jackson, Samantha Cauchy, Chris Long, Bobby Kruse, Chris Bohlin, and APEX Collective, among others.

And finally, you definitely won’t want to miss out on the 420 Marketplace in City Hall. Two stories of cannabis accessories and paraphernalia (no cannabis, though!) will be available for your shopping delight.

Do you know what’s truly magical? One single, solitary ticket gets you entrance into the entire six venue extravaganza.  It’s a 4/20 miracle.
