As a child my headphones were filled with a vast array of music from Bob Marley and the Wailers to Tupac Shakur as I pumped my skateboard through the city streets of Denver. At home my mother would always be playing Motown, Jazz, Country, or whatever else she could find that filled our home with soul. In addition while in school I was sure to keep my afro consistently puffed in order to conceal my headphones and keep the music playing. Lets just say my school career didn’t last very long with me paying attention solely to music. Next the partying began and I stumbled upon the fact I could rhythmically vent my thoughts very easily. I did not consider rap a gift at that time and only exposed it to my closest of friends.
