High Times is the granddaddy of cannabis magazines, and now we know they love The Green Solution. Last month the original periodical celebrating marijuana and its culture chose the ten best dispensaries in every state (with legalized cannabis sales, of course) – and TGS was chosen as one of Colorado’s finest.
Here’s what High Times had to say about us:
“With 15 locations open in 2017, the Green Solution is Colorado’s second largest retail dispensary chain. With a professionally trained staff and an emphasis on customer service, the Green Solution takes its craft seriously—and it shows. The winner of over 15 Cannabis Cups, for everything from extracts to CBD products, this shop’s extensive menu provides something for every cannabis consumer, from the patient to the recreational user.”
Thanks, High Times!
Now that we’re feeling all nostalgic about High Times, here are a few fun facts about the magazine.
- It was founded in 1974 in New York City by underground journalist and activist Thomas King Forçade, who committed suicide in 1978.
- After Forçade’s death, the magazine’s staff gathered atop the World Trade Center to roll his ashes into joints and smoked them.
- According to the New York Times, “the magazine was originally conceived as a parody of Playboy, but with lurid centerfolds of cannabis buds the size of bonsai trees instead of nude women.” Initially, the idea was that there would only be one issue. 43 years later, they’re still going strong.
- Here’s the cover of their original issue. Isn’t it adorable?
The Green Solution is thrilled to be included in High Times’ round-up of the best of the best. Stop in to your favorite TGS location to celebrate with us!
